Buenas gente,

Supongo que conocereis la iniciativa que ha emprendido el señor Norbert Bollow para recoger firmas de agradecimiento a Polonia por haberse interpuesto, y evitado, que las patentes de software prosperaran en Europa.

Por lo demás, le he escrito un correíllo preguntándole a ver qué iba a hacer ahora que Polonia parece ser que está cediendo a las presiones internacionales, como podeis leer aquí:

Yes, of course.  FFII is still trying to organize a *major* event
for this; if that works out, great.  If not I'll do my own little
thing.

I'm not in a hurry, regardless of what happens next.  Marcinski's
action of Dec 21 was significant in any case, because without it, the
JURI vote of Feb 2 would not have been possible, as the announcement
of the directive would have happened before that JURI commission
meeting, and at that stage it would have been too late for even asking
JURI to look at the matter.

There's been some positive impact already... whether it'll be
significant in averting the software patents disaster in the
long run, that is IMO impossible to predict.  All we can do is
try and do what we can.
