[eside-ghost] oom-killer , ¿quien es este?

Tengo por aquí una maquinita bastante "cebada" de aplicaciones, que de vez
en cuando me da unos casques de impresión, acompañados de "Out of Memory:
Killed process ..." y "oom-killer: gfp_mask=0xd0".

Estoy dándole vueltas a post's con problemas parecidos, pero sin encontrar
la solución:

La "víctima" es un RedHat ES4, actualizada a la última revisión (antes
también ocurría), y con un kernel '2.6.9-22.0.2.ELsmp', con dos micros
Xeon, cuatro gigas de RAM y 5 gigas de swap.

Y ahora, un "cachito" de uno de los casques. cuando me dan me tira
prácticamente todo, osea, me dan un montón parecidos:
