esto de la aceleracion grafica es como lo de "to be or not to be", todo 
un clasico.

Estoy con una ATI, el lspci me dice sobre la grafica esto

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon RV100 QY 
[Radeon 7000/VE]

En teoria esta tarjeta esta soportada por el driver libre, y de hecho se 
supone que si tengo direct rendering pero con matices :
$ glxinfo
name of display: :0.0
libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x4b
display: :0  screen: 0
direct rendering: Yes
... etc...

pues eso, que si direct rendering pero que "libGL warning: 3D driver 
claims to not support visual 0x4b"

Cuando ejecuto una aplicacion que usa en direct rendering me sale este 
mismo error. Probe con el driver propietario pero no me chuta el direct 
rendering para nada, y X se vuelve inestable, se me quedo pillado un par 
de veces.

Se me olvidaba que tengo una Ubuntu Edgy recien instalada (intente 
instalar debian y se me jodia al actualizar de todas todas). Es una 
putada mu grande pq trabajo con OpenGL y este p4 a 1800 con ATI de 128m 
me va como el antiguo p3 a 600 con matrox de 16m ...

He estado mirando varios dias por internet a ver si encontraba algo 
sobre esto pero no he conseguido aclararme demasiado.
